Penalty for violations. — Effective May 21, 1998, any person who violates any provision of sections 443.805 to 443.812 shall be deemed guilty of a class C felony. In addition, in any contested case proceeding, the director or board may assess a civil penalty of up to five thousand dollars per violation for any violation of any of the provisions of sections 443.800 to 443.893.
