  207.050.  County family services commission — qualifications, appointment. — In every county there may be established a county family services commission to consist of four persons, two from each of the two major political parties, to be selected by the director of social services from a list submitted to the director of the department of social services by the county commission, consisting of double the number of appointments to be made. Each member of the county family services commission shall serve for a term of four years. Vacancies shall be filled in the same way in which the original appointment was made. The duties of the county family services commission shall be advisory in nature with the power to examine the records of any case pending within their county and to make recommendations thereon. They shall serve without compensation, but shall be paid their traveling expenses and other necessary expense in the performance of their duty. No elective officer shall be appointed as a member of the county family services commission, and upon becoming a candidate for any elective office, such member of the county family services commission shall forthwith forfeit his or her position on the commission. Duties imposed by this law upon the several county commissions shall be performed in the city of St. Louis by the board of estimate and apportionment.
