9.292. Eddie Gaedel Day, August 19. — August nineteenth of each year shall be known and designated as "Eddie Gaedel Day" in Missouri in honor of Eddie Gaedel, who as a member of the St. Louis Browns on August 19, 1951, became the shortest player to ever play Major League Baseball. Eddie Gaedel is an important part of baseball history and Missouri sports history. The citizens of this state are encouraged to participate in events and activities to celebrate Eddie Gaedel's contributions to baseball history.
